Bangalore ......that was and it is!!

We visited Bangalore from 22 July to 26 July 2011. 

Bangalore was and is a beautiful city. The roads are wide and clean all over...take the main road or the by-lane. 

We traversed from main MG Road to interior or outskirts like Horamovu or Indira Nagar or to that matter the Jay Laxmi extension. There were no pot holes or dug up roads. We traversed at the wee hours or the day and surprisingly did not find garbage picking up and carting trucks on road.....we were told that it is done before the day break. The roads are swept during midnight and by the time public is on road, the roads are clean. 

WHY CANT WE HAVE THIS IN PUNE??????

Do we have to face the garbage carrying trucks spraying the garbage along the road they travel? Why do the garbage carrying vehicles have to stand on road at 10.30 am in the morning when there is crowd of office goers and school children? IS THE PMC SHOWING THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING? Why the pot holes are not filled in during the night? 

Another very interesting sight we noticed that wherever the roads are to be widened, the area is taken in possession, cleared of all debris and tarmacked.....patch by patch. There is no waiting for taking possession of full stretch of road for widening and waiting for finishing with carpeting. 

आता पुणेकरांनी जागे व्हायला पाहिजे.....भविष्याचा विचार करायला पाहिजे.... नाहीतर पुन्हा पांच वर्ष असेच भोग भोगायला लागतील.
